Tremiti Islands
About twelve miles of sea from the northern coast of the Gargano, there are three major islands and a series of rock formations that make up the archipelago of the Tremiti Islands, called for their beauty "The Pearls of the Adriatic." The Archipelago is made up of the islands of San Nicola, San Domino, Capraia, Pianosa, Cretaccio and La Vecchia.
The Tremiti Islands are now a protected marine reserve, and with their unique environment, in the midst of the blue waters of the Adriatic Sea, they are the habitat of a wealth of marine life. The most famous beach is Cala delle Arene then Cala Matano which falls overhanging the sea, Cala degli English and Cala Tonda similar to a small lake. The particular clarity of the water allows you to fully enjoy the seascape. Do not miss the marine caves of Love or Sorrentino, Turquoise, Grottone dei Misteri and Architiello.
